The deep diaphragmatic movement created during laughter stimulates the lymphatic system, helping the body to detox naturally. This process supports immune function by increasing lymphocytes and natural killer T-cells that help the body defend against illness.

Often, it’s during life’s most challenging moments that laughter is needed the most. When you feel least like laughing, that is your cue to begin. This practice helps cultivate resilience, perspective and a renewed sense of humour.
 
Laughter Yoga is also an aerobic activity, meaning it supports heart and lung health by increasing oxygen intake and circulation, while using Yogic breathing exercises. During each session, your body releases powerful feel good chemicals such as dopamine, which enhances pleasure and mood; oxytocin, often referred to as the “love hormone,” which supports connection and trust; serotonin, which aids stress reduction and recovery; and endorphins, which elevate mood, reduce pain, and promote an overall sense of wellbeing. 
 
As with any form of exercise, participants are encouraged to listen to their bodies and move at a pace that feels comfortable, especially if this style of movement is new to them.
